EXPO2025 Commemorative Award Rules

★Summary: The 2025 World Expo, Japan ("Osaka-Kansai Expo") will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
The award is issued with the aim of revitalizing amateur radio and promoting the Expo through communication
with the commemorative stations that will be established during the period.
★Issued by: Osaka-Kansai Expo Commemorative Station Executive Committee
★Rules: Communicate on many bands with the special commemorative stations 8K3EXPO and JA3XPO that will
be established and operated during the Expo and earn the following points.
Each communication on one band/mode counts as one point, and you will earn 25 points or more.(For DX stations you will earn 10 points or more.)
Communication with both 8K3EXPO and JA3XPO must be included.
Station that entered the XPO Commemorative Contest to be held on September 15 will receive 10 points.
★ Application: Please send the separately specified application form and communication list by email (as an attachment) to expo-award@jarl.com.
- Communications can be confirmed in the logs of both commemorative stations, so there is no need to carry a QSL card.
- Applications will only be accepted electronically. Please limit one application to one email.
- There is no application fee.
- The application period is from August 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
- Communications using repeaters and Internet lines are invalid. However, communications using so-called remote stations that have been approved under the Radio Law-related Examination Standards, Article 15 (Amateur Stations), Remote Operation of 24 Amateur Stations, are valid.
- The commemorative station 8K3EXPO is scheduled to operate in 16 bands from 1.8 to 10 GHz, and the JA3XPO is scheduled to operate in 13 bands from 1.8 MHz to 1200 MHz. The 3.8MHz band is included in the 3.5MHz band, and the 10.1GHz and 10.4GHz bands are considered the 10GHz band.
- Modes are classified into three categories: telegraph, telephone, and digital. A1/A2/F2 are classified as telegraph, AM/FM/DV/C4FM, etc. as telephone, and RTTY/PSK/FT8/FT4/JT65, etc. as digital.
- Due to the nature of the awards, bands and modes will not be specified. Also, no issue number will be given.
Awards will be issued in PDF format and sent by email to applicants after review. Application acceptance and issuance status will be posted on the JARL Kansai Regional Headquarters website from time to time.
★Additional notes:
- Trial operation will be prioritized for this commemorative station. It may not be possible to expect the same type of communication or number of stations as with previous commemorative stations. We ask that you keep an eye on this during the trial operation. Of course, you are also welcome to communicate with the other station in the trial operation.
- For similar reasons, mobile operations of mobile station JA3XPO may be reduced.
- We look forward to receiving many applications in commemoration of the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
